Programs You Can Use to Read my Essays Philosophy Religion Politics Copyright Humor Notes on Document Formats Essays by Charles Rosario Essays by Belén A. Barbosa Muñiz All of you know for ethical reasons, I refuse to distribute my essays with Digital Restrictions Management (DRM). This means that any essay or file you get from me can be copied as much as you wish, and may be modified to other formats. However, depending on the license, you are free to change the content or not. For those books that have commercial value to me and express my opinions on certain subjects, you cannot sell them without talking to me, and you cannot modify their content. However, if the eBook is in the public domain or if it is released under a free cultural license, you may use it as you wish as long as you follow the terms of the license. For ethical reasons too, I do not promote the download or use of proprietary software, this is, software that restricts your ability to copy it, study it, or changing it. Here I give you free programs you can use to read my essays below: To view documents
in Portable Document Format (PDF) you can use the following
programs, all of them:
Windows Users - SumatraPDF (Recommended), XPDF, Okular
MacOS Users - Skim GNU/Linux Users - Evince, XPDF, Okular ![]() To view documents in DjVu format you'll need to download one of the following programs depending on your operating system: Windows
Users - WinDjView or DjView4
Mac OS Users - MacDjView or DjView4 GNU/Linux Users - DjvuLibre, Evince, or DjView4 For those who are Windows users, with WinDjView or DjView4, all you have to do is to double-click or activate the executable file, to install the program. In there you can go to "File", go to wherever you downloaded the ebook, open it, and enjoy. Also if you want, the GNOME desktop has Evince as document viewer by default, and it does support DjVu format. Remember that all of these programs are free software, and are available under the GNU GPL. To look at ODF (Open Document Format) files, download OpenOffice.org, which is available for all operative systems. Are you reading this page right now? That means that you already have the program you need to read the HTML version of the books! But just in case you are wondering, I recommend these browsers, available for all platforms:
