Read and DownloadI'm
selling my
book in print ($15.50) in Lulu.com, but in this page I offer
you the opportunity to download for no cost the book Underdetermination of Science -
Part I: The Relation Between Formal Science and Natural
Science in digital form and free of any
DRM
(Digital Restriction Management). It is under a Creative Commons License
(Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported),
so you are free to copy it in any format or redistribute it on the
Internet as long as you give proper attribution to the author (yours
truly!), you do not use it for commercial purposes, and that you don't
make derived works out of it.
Also consider giving a donation so it can help me in my philosophical research and studies and the dissemination of the book. A minimum of $2.00 would be nice, if you want to give more, feel free to do so too .... I won't mind ;-). Go to our Donations Page. Another way of helping me is buying a PDF version or in print (see the left side of this page for places where you can buy it).
Windows Users - SumatraPDF (Recommended), XPDF, Okular
MacOS Users - Skim GNU/Linux Users - Evince, XPDF, Okular ![]() To view documents in DjVu format you'll need to download one of the following programs depending on your operating system, they are all free software released under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL): Windows
Users - WinDjView or DjView4
Mac OS Users - MacDjView or DjView4 GNU/Linux Users - DjvuLibre, Evince, or DjView4 For those who are Windows users, with
WinDjView or DjView4, all you have to do is to double-click or activate
the executable file, to install the program. In there you can go
to "File", go to wherever you
downloaded the ebook, open it, and enjoy. Also
if you want, the GNOME desktop has Evince as
document viewer by default, and it does support DjVu format.
Remember
that
all of these programs are free software, and are available
under the GNU
GPL.
To see the E-Book in Open Document Format, download OpenOffice.org, it is an office suite available as free software under the GNU Lesser General Public License (GNU LGPL),or you can use Abiword, which is available under the GNU General Public License. Note on DRM: If by any chance in the universe, you receive a copy of any of my books, or my MA Thesis, with a Digital Restriction Management (DRM), know that this was done without my consent. In such a case, do yourself a favor as a user: break it! Enjoying your fair use is a right you have. Again, sharing with your neighbor, changing from PDF to Rich-Text-Format or Plain-Text-Format, or to an audio format, copying it for educational purposes, or to help someone else is not a sin, and it is essentially good. |
