Read and DownloadI am selling my
book in print ($15.95) in Lulu.com, but in this page I offer
you the opportunity to download the book It Needs to be Said for free in digital form and free of any
DRM
(Digital Restriction Management). It is under a Creative Commons License
(Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported),
so you are free to copy it in any format or redistribute it on the
Internet as long as you give proper attribution to the author (yours
truly!), and if you do make some derivative works out of it, then it
has to be placed under the same license or an equivalent. The
source file of the book (see below) contains the original ODF file and
the specific fonts used in the book.
Enjoy the book:
To view documents
in Portable Document Format (PDF) you can use the following
programs, all of them free software:
Windows Users - SumatraPDF (Recommended), XPDF, Okular
MacOS Users - Skim GNU/Linux Users - Evince, XPDF, Okular ![]() To view documents in DjVu format you'll need to download one of the following programs depending on your operating system, they are all free software released under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL): Windows
Users - WinDjView or DjView4
Mac OS Users - MacDjView or DjView4 GNU/Linux Users - DjvuLibre, Evince, or DjView4 For
those who are
Windows
users, with WinDjView or DjView4, all you have to do is to double-click or
activate the executable file, to install the program. In there you can go to "File", go to wherever you
downloaded the ebook, open it, and enjoy. GNU/Linux users, it
will use the command "djview" to execute DjvuLibre. Also
if you want, the GNOME desktop has Evince as
document viewer by default, and it does support DjVu format.
Remember
that
all of these programs are free software, and are available
under the GNU
GPL.
To see the E-Book in Open Document Format, download OpenOffice.org, it is an office suite available as free software under the GNU Lesser General Public License (GNU LGPL),or you can use Abiword, which is available under the GNU General Public License. Note on DRM:
If by
any chance in the universe, you receive a copy of any of my books or
my MA Thesis with
a Digital Restriction Management (DRM), know that this was done without my consent.
In such a case, do yourself a favor as a user:
break it! Enjoying your fair use is a right you
have. Again, sharing with your neighbor, changing from PDF to
Rich-Text-Format or Plain-Text-Format, or to an audio format, copying
it for educational purposes, or to help someone else is not a sin, and it
is essentially good.
